Jagran Correspondent, Prayagraj: Late gangster Atiq Ahmed’s jailed son Ali Ahmed arrived in a prison van to bid farewell to his younger brother Abaan. He wept, offered Namaz, shouldered the funeral procession and helped bury his brother. As he turned to leave and climbed back into the prison van, Ali Ahmed twirled his moustache and assured his brother Ahzam that they would meet again, saying “I will come back”.
A line of vehicles stretched for about 500 metre around the Kasari-Masari cemetery in Prayagraj. A crowd of about 4,000 thousand people gathered inside and outside the cemetery. Ali and Umar had been released on parole after nearly four years. Umar arrived first at the cemetery. Ali arrived next.

When Abaan's body was brought in, the two brothers remained seated in the prison van. They repeatedly asked lawyers and relatives about Abaan's whereabouts. When the body was brought in the ambulance, both brothers broke down in tears. When the brothers were taken out of separate prison vans, they were handcuffed.
After Abaan's burial, Umar and Ali met their younger brother Ahzam, their aunt, and others in a tent set up outside the mosque in the cemetery to share their grief. They discussed the incident with their family for about 1.5 hours. Meanwhile, police and PAC personnel remained on full alert. Intelligence agencies also continued to gather information at their own levels.

Abaan Dies In Car Crash
Abaan died in an accident on Thursday. Pappu Yadav and Deepak Yadav, eyewitnesses to the highway accident, narrated the horror and detailed the last moments of Abaan.
Deepak said that he stopped to consume pan masala when a calf suddenly appeared on the highway. A bike was passing by the site when a high-speed car coming from the Kanpur side on the Jhansi-Kanpur Highway lost control in a bid to save them both.
The bike was saved, but while trying to save the calf, the car lost control and hit the divider, sustaining huge damage.
Deepak, Pappu, and others ran to the car and saw Abaan inside in a badly wounded condition. Deepak said that Abaan was pleading for help, repeatedly yelling, "Save me!" People tried to pull him out, but the car's dilapidated condition made it difficult.
In order to free him, the villagers called for a tyre lever and a crowbar (iron rod). They broke the glass and somehow pulled him out. They laid him down on the road, and then pulled out the other injured person. Police officers arrived at the scene immediately upon receiving the information. Both victims died shortly afterwards.
