Bengaluru Weather: As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru witnessed the hottest day of the year on Friday, with temperatures soaring to 34.6 degrees Celsius. This was 1.9 degrees above the normal. The weather department said the temperature in the city may reach 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The minimum temperature is likely to remain around 19 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the temperature in Bengaluru was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius.
Though Friday was the hottest day of the year, the weather experts said more hot days lie ahead, as it is expected that the temperature will witness a sharp rise in the coming months, Deccan Herald reported.
According to CS Patil, Director of the Meteorological Centre, Bengaluru’s maximum temperature is expected to rise to 39°C between April and mid-May. However, a slight drop in temperature is anticipated from the third week of May onwards.
This warming trend isn’t limited to Bengaluru. North Interior Karnataka (NIK) is also expected to experience temperatures 2-4°C higher than usual in the coming days. For example, Kalaburagi has already recorded 39.2°C, which is 2°C above the normal temperature. In May, several districts in NIK, including Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichur, and Bagalkot, could see maximum temperatures reaching up to 45°C.

Rain Likely In Some Areas
Dry conditions are expected to persist until Monday, with light showers forecasted for South Interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru, on March 11 and 12. This is attributed to a weather system forming over Tamil Nadu. Isolated rainfall is also likely in Coastal Karnataka, especially in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
