Bengaluru Hotels Food Raid: Multiple popular earring joints in Karnataka's Bengaluru have been ordered to close after inspections by the Food Safety Department, which found serious hygiene violations. Officials found rotten meat and fungus-infested beef along with expired milk and curd. Skyee Lounge, 16th floor, U B City, Bangalore Kitchen, were ordered to shut down over unhygienic kitchen conditions.

1. Hotel Sky, UB City

The following food articles were found unfit for consumption and discarded/destroyed as per procedure.

- Rotten Chicken/Beef: 45 kg
- Vegetable Cutlet: 6 kg
- Used Cooking Oil: 15 litres
- Total food articles: 51 kg

2. Royal Chain Hotel

- Duck: 50 kg
- Fish: 5 kg
- Total seized: 55 kg

3. Madras Kitchen

- Green Peas: 5 kg

4. Tescon Hotel

- Mushroom: 5 kg

5. Senchez Hotel

- Fish: 3 kg, seized
- Cake, Potato and Tacos: 7 kg, discarded

Overall Seizure And Disposal

- Total food articles seized/disposed: 132 kg
- Used Cooking Oil: 15 litres
- Total quantity of food articles: 132 kg

Earlier, three Old Monk variants, namely The Legend, Gold Reserve and XXX Matured Rum were banned by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The products are manufactured by Mohan Rocky Springwater's Khopoli unit.

As per FSSAI, artificial flavours are being added in the products instead of following proper ageing process. The regulator added that this practice goes against the food safety regulations, misleading the consumers.

The list includes - McDowell's No 1 Rum, Bagpiper Deluxe Whisky, Old Cask Deluxe XXX Rum, Central Province Whisky, McDowell's Celebration Rum, Antiquity Blue Whisky and Royal Challenge Whisky are added to the list.
