Parliament's last Budget session before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, ahead of the session which has been drawing expectations across all sectors over a couple of weeks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sounded a warning to the Opposition, urging them to not disrupt the proceedings. The Prime Minister said that the full Budget 2024 will be presented once the new government is formed keeping with the tradition.
"We are going to follow the tradition of presenting a full budget after the new government is formed," PM Modi said ahead of the interim Budget session.
"This time, the Finance Minister of the country, Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget with 'disha-nirdeshak baatein'. I am of the firm belief that the country is going ahead by crossing new heights of progress every day. All-round and inclusive development is taking place. This journey will continue with the blessings of people," he added.

Emphasising on India's current era of "Nari Shakti", PM Modi recalled the first Budget session held in the new Parliament building where the "Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam" was taken up.
"After that, on 26th Jan we saw how the country experienced the capability of Nari Shakti, its valour, the strength of its resolve. Today, when the budget session begins, President Drouapdi Murmu's guidance and tomorrow when Nirmala Sitharaman presents the interim budget - in a way this is a festival of the Nari Shakti," PM Modi said.

The Budget Session of Parliament is all set to commence with President Droupadi Murmu addressing a joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha at 11 am on Wednesday.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim Budget on February 1
As per the list of business by Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the proceedings of both the Houses will start half an hour after the President's address. The Secretary Generals of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha are scheduled to lay on the table of their respective Houses a copy of the President's address.
The Budget session will mainly be devoted to the Financial Business relating to the Interim Union Budget for the year 2024-25 and discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address, however essential Legislative and other Business will also be taken up during this session.
