Delhi Airport Advisory: As over 15 monitoring stations out of a total of 40 stations recorded ‘severe’ AQI on Saturday morning, resulting in a thick layer of smog covering the sky of the city, the Delhi airport authorities have issued a passenger advisory in the wake of low visibility.

The authorities at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, assuring the flight operation to be normal, have urged the passengers to contact their respective airlines and stay updated with the latest schedule.

"Low Visibility Procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," read the advisory.

The advisory followed the thick layer of smog in the sky of Delhi as the Air Quality deteriorated significantly on Saturday morning. While the air quality near the airport remained under the ‘very poor’ category, several areas registered ‘severe’ AQI, above 400.

Delhi Fog Expected To Persist

The India Meteorological Department has forecast that moderate fog will linger over the capital in the coming days, pushing air quality deeper into the “very poor” category. With visibility likely to drop further, authorities have advised residents to minimise outdoor activities, especially during early morning and late evening hours, and strictly follow health guidelines.
