The speculations of bomb blast are running high after a massive explosion in a car near Gate No 1 of the Chandni Chowk Metro Station left 9 people dead, while several others injured.

The Delhi Police, Crime Branch, NSG, and Forensics are on the blast site as a full-fledged investigation has started. PM Narendra Modi talked to Home Minister Amit Shah and reviewed the situation.

Shah, on the other hand, has sent NIA to the site. Meanwhile, an alert has been issued in almost all parts of India. On the bomb blast speculations, the officials have said that it was too early to comment.

In its report, the Hindustan Times cited a senior official saying that the explosion took place in a moving car and there was no crater. Therefore, it can not be said whether it was a bomb blast.

"The explosion happened in a moving car on the road. There is no crater at the spot, so we cannot say if it is a bomb blast. Also, no pellet or splinter injuries have been reported so far, which are common in bomb explosions", HT quoted the official as saying.

The FSL team on site were collecting the samples. Reacting to the incident, Shah said that the explosion took place in a Hyundai i20 car. He said, "Orders have been given to examine all nearby CCTV cameras. I have also spoken to the Delhi CP and the Special Branch in-charge. The Delhi CP and the Special Branch in-charge are present at the spot."
