The Delhi government on Monday wrote a letter to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) regarding the death of a woman at the Delhi Metro station on December 14. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot wrote to the MD of DMRC seeking a detailed report about the incident where a woman was dragged along the platform of Inderlok Metro Station as her sari got stuck in the door of a train.   

After the incident was reported the DMRC announced that the commissioner of Metro Railway Safety will hold an inquiry into the accident.

"We have written to the MD, DMRC asking about the report and have asked them to submit it. We have also asked for details about their compensation policy. The DMRC should take steps to rehabilitate them (victim's family)," Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said as reported by news agency PTI. 

The victim, identified as Reena (35), is survived by a son and a daughter while her husband died around seven years ago.
