Delhi News: A 68-year-old man reportedly died of suicide on Thursday by leaping in front of a train at the Kashmere Gate metro station on the Red Line, according to officials. The individual has been identified as Chawari Bazar resident Sunil Gupta, according to a senior police official.

The officer stated that Gupta had been undergoing treatment for TB for a few years and that he had previously spent over Rs 6 lakh on the illness, according to the victim's brother.

Services on the Red Line, which runs from Delhi's Rithala to Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) in UP's Ghazibad, were temporarily disrupted, according to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

"Delay in services between Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) and Rithala due to passenger on track at Kashmere Gate Metro Station. Normal service on all other lines," the DMRC said in a post on X at 12.04 pm.

The DMRC reported that normal operations were restored to the line after five minutes.

A suicide note was also found, according to the police. An autopsy has been requested for the body.

In another incident, passengers on the Gorakhpur-Bandra Express had a terrifying encounter when they spotted a snake inside the AC class during their usual train ride. The incident, which occurred on train number 15067 when it was traveling from Gorakhpur to Bandra in Mumbai, caused a stir among passengers right away. When the train arrived at Kanpur Central Station on platform 4, the coach was evacuated after a passenger in seat number 56 of coach B-3 reported seeing the snake.

This was a frightening discovery. The coach was soon crowded with passengers, drawing the notice of railway officials at Kanpur Central.
