Faridabad Terror Plot: In a recent update, new details have emerged regarding Ishtiaq, the imam of the mosque at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, who was arrested in connection with the Delhi blast case. According to reports, Ishtiaq hails from Singar village in Nuh district and had visited his village about two months ago to meet his mother.

Sources cited by Jagran.com report that Ishtiaq was appointed as the imam (Islamic religious leader) of the mosque at Al-Falah University around 20 years ago. In Fatehpur Taga village of Faridabad, he had built a three-room house, which he rented out.

It is reported that one of these rooms was rented to Dr. Mohammad Mujammil, affiliated with the university. A large quantity of ammonium nitrate was recovered from this room, prompting investigative agencies to take Ishtiaq into custody.

Local sources indicate that Ishtiaq has four brothers, two of whom also serve as imams in mosques in Singar village. Police are now investigating Ishtiaq’s family and social connections to determine whether any other networks were involved in the blast conspiracy.
