A shocking road rage incident unfolded in Hyderabad’s Meerpet, where a middle-aged man was dragged on the bonnet of a speeding car for nearly 2 km after a dispute over a traffic turn. The incident, which occurred in May, was caught on camera, showing the man holding on to the moving vehicle in a desperate attempt to stop it.

According to police, the victim and his son were travelling on a two-wheeler when the confrontation began while the car was moving in the same direction. Although, the bike rider had indicated for a U-turn nearly 500 metres in advance, when the car driver allegedly questioned why he was signalling so early.

The disagreement quickly escalated, with the car driver allegedly grabbing the bike rider by his hair and continuing to drive. As the situation worsened, the victim rushed to protect his son and clung to the car’s bonnet in an attempt to force the driver to stop.

Despite this, the accused allegedly continued driving for nearly 2 km with the man on the bonnet before eventually stopping in Balapur and fleeing the scene.

The victim alleged that the car had first hit their two-wheeler from behind while they were travelling from Meerpet to LB Nagar. He further claimed that the driver pulled his son by the hair, causing him to fall onto the road and sustain injuries. In an effort to rescue his son, the father held onto the bonnet throughout the ordeal.

“The car driver did not stop the vehicle and continued to drive till Balapur, where he stopped. When I got down from the bonnet, the driver fled," the man was quoted as saying by PTI.

Following the complaint, Meerpet police registered a case against the accused driver. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
