State Bureau, Ahmedabad | Security agencies across Gujarat have been activated after receiving emails threatening to bomb passport offices and post offices in various cities of the state. These anonymous threats in Surat, Navsari, Bharuch, and Narmada districts have sent the police administration and intelligence agencies into a tizzy.
However, after hours of intensive searches, no suspicious object was recovered from any location.

High Alert In Surat And Navsari
An email threatening to bomb the passport office in the Umra (Piplod) area of Surat and the post office in Nanpura was received by the authorities. Immediately, police teams, dog squads, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) evacuated both offices and began an intensive investigation.
Similarly, the main post office in Navsari also received an email threat. After hours of intense efforts and checking, the administration heaved a sigh of relief as nothing incriminating was found.
Investigation Operations In Bharuch And Narmada
In light of the seriousness of the threatening email, security was tightened in Bharuch and Narmada districts, following the Home Department's instructions. The BDDS and local police conducted a thorough search of all the district's post offices, both large and small, including the main post office of the Bharuch division. Security forces thoroughly searched the entire premises and kept a close watch on visitors.
The administration also swung into action after receiving threats at the main post office and passport service center in Rajpipla, the headquarters of Narmada district.
Under the direct supervision of Narmada District Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Devdha, joint teams of the Rajpipla Town Police, Special Operations Group, and Bomb Squad inspected the entrance, parcel department, and surrounding areas. Work was halted for a period during the investigation, but resumed once the situation returned to normal.
Cyber Cell Investigation Continues
Technical agencies, including the Cyber Crime Branch, are currently investigating the matter. The IP address from which the threatening email was sent and the perpetrators behind it are being investigated based on digital evidence.
