Indore is set to witness low water supply on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, due to a power failure. According to a Nai Dunia report, the Narmada River pumps had to be shut down due to a power failure, preventing the overhead tanks from filling.
Consequently, water supply from Indore's 73 tanks will be disrupted. The power outage occurred around 1 PM on Tuesday, June 23. This resulted in the shutdown of all pumps in the 1700 mm diameter main pumping line. After repairs, pressure began building up again in the pipeline around 3:30 PM.
Subsequently, work to fill the overhead tanks began around 4:45 PM. The authorities decided to fill all tanks approximately 30 cm below their capacity. This will impact Wednesday's water supply.

Girl kills parents with the help of boyfriend in Indore
The city also witnessed a horrific crime as an 11th-grade girl, along with her boyfriend, stabbed her parents after they opposed their relationship.
The incident occurred in the Krishnabagh Colony of the Khajrana police station area. The father, Meherban Pyarelal Thakur, was seriously injured in the attack. He was stabbed in the back and hand and was hospitalised.
According to Khajrana Police Station Officer Manoj Sendhav, the incident occurred on Monday night. 42-year-old Meharban Pyarelal Thakur filed an FIR against his minor daughter, her boyfriend Shubham, and Shubham's mother, Kiran Pallav, a resident of Mayapuri Colony.
The teenager's mother, Bhuri Bai, told police that her daughter had been communicating with Shubham for about five years. Meherban had advised her daughter not to speak to him. Angered by this, the teenager left home, only to return with her boyfriend to attack them.
