IRCTC Travel Discount: Good news for train travellers, the Indian Railways has introduced a special round trip scheme that will make journeys more affordable. Passengers booking both onward and return tickets together will now get a 20 per cent discount on their fare.

Bookings for this offer began on August 14, and only those who purchase tickets for both directions in one go will be eligible. The scheme will apply across all classes and all trains, but there’s one condition no refunds will be issued under this offer.

According to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the booking window for this discount is limited. Passengers can book discounted round-trip tickets between October 13 and October 26 , and again from December 17 to January 1, 2026.

IRCTC Travel Discount: Thousands To Benefit Daily

As per Jagran.com, more than 8,000 passengers travel from the district every day. Of the 125 trains that pass through, 98 halt at the station. Along with daily commuters, a similar number of travellers make advance reservations.

IRCTC Travel Discount: Check Some Popular Destinations

Most passengers from Barabanki railway station travel to Delhi, Gujarat, Mumbai, and Dehradun. Popular trains include the Rapti Sagar Express (Cochin), Marudhar Express (Jodhpur), Kaifiyat Express (Delhi), and Vaishali Express. Other major trains stopping here are Gorakhdham Express, Sabarmati Express (Gujarat), Kushinagar Express (Mumbai), Panvel Express, Doon Express (Dehradun and Haridwar), Sealdah Express (Jammu), Avadh Express (Ahmedabad), among many others.

Confirming the news Station Superintendent (Headquarters) AK Raijada said,“Under the round trip scheme of the railways, passengers will get a 20 percent discount on fare if they book round trip tickets together. Passengers can avail this facility only if they book reservations in the same class for both sides. The guidelines of the scheme have been received.”
