Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several regions of Karnataka are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that while the coastal regions are expected to experience heavy rain, the other parts are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall. Apart from this, these regions are also set to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 50-60 kmph. The IMD stated that the rainfall will reduce the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several parts of the state, including the capital city Bengaluru, are likely to witness heavy rain on Friday. The IMD also stated that these regions will continue to witness rainfall till July 7.
The weather department stated that the residents of the city are likely to witness cloudy skies for the next few days, adding that the rainfall is also likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages. While the maximum temperature of Bengaluru is likely to be calculated at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius.
Apart from this, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated that the coastal regions are likely to receive heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. "Scattered to widespread moderate rain and scattered heavy rain in coastal and Malnad districts of the state, with very heavy rain at isolated places today and tomorrow. Scattered light to moderate rain in interior districts," KSNDMC stated in a post on X.
The IMD stated that apart from Karnataka, several other states, including Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Odisha, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days.
