Karnataka Medical College Ragging: An MBBS second-year student was allegedly assaulted at a medical college in Vijayapura, Karnataka. The victim, Hameem, is a second-year MBBS student at Al-Ameen Medical College and hails from Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir. The youngster alleges that he was exposed to violent ragging and threats by senior students from the 2019 batch, which began on Tuesday evening during a cricket match.
Hameem was on the college grounds watching a match between the 2019 and 2022 batches on Tuesday at approximately 4 PM when a senior student told him to stay outside the boundary line. Hameem, observing from a distance, obeyed without objecting.
When he was confronted by a group of seniors, tensions escalated. They asked him to leave and questioned his presence, but Hameem resisted. Then, for their entertainment, a bunch of seniors made him dance and perform songs. That was not the end of the humiliation. He was allegedly pushed into a car by the seniors. They grew much more hostile when he pulled out his phone to record the scene.
A gang of six to eight individuals barged into Hameem's hostel room later that evening. After they attacked him, he was coerced into making a video apology.
"You have four more years here. We are locals-imagine how terrible we can make your life," the attackers warned him.
