Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Congress party on Sunday released its latest list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The list contains the names of 10 candidates, including former JNU Student Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar and ex-Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. While Kumar has been fielded from North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat against BJP leader Manoj Tiwari, Channi has been nominated from Jalandhar.
The Congress party's latest candidate list comprises the names of candidates for Lok Sabha seats spread across Punjab, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. The grand old party has fielded veteran leader JP Agarwal from Delhi's Chandni Chowk, and Udit Raj from North West Delhi, which is a seat reserved for SC candidates.
In Punjab, Gurjeet Singh Aujla will contest from Amritsar against BJP candidate and former envoy to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu. Meanwhile, former AAP leader Dr Dharamvir Gandhi has been given the ticket from Patiala constituency, where he will be up against sitting MP and wife of former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Preneet Kaur, who joined the BJP last month.

Moreover, sitting MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira will contest the general election from Punjab's Sangrur. Ujjwal Rewati Raman Singh, the son of veteran SP leader Rewati Raman Singh, has been fielded by the Congress from Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad. He joined the Congress earlier this month.
On Saturday, Congress named 16 Lok Sabha candidates for seats in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Chandigarh, and Odisha. Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh featured in the penultimate list. He has been fielded by the Congress from the Mandi constituency against BJP leader and actress Kangana Ranaut.
Vikramaditya Singh's mother and Himachal Pradesh Congress unit chief Pratibha Singh is the incumbent Lok Sabha MP from Mandi. The voting for Lok Sabha election 2024 will be held across the nation in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
