Ludhiana Building Collapse: A worker died after a multi-storey structure of a textile business fell in the Focal Point district here late Saturday evening, officials said. The six workers trapped under the debris were taken out by the NDRF troops. While one of them was found dead, the status of three others is serious, they added.
The incident happened at 'Kohli Dyeing' in Phase-8 of the Focal Point region. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a tremendous boom before the structure collapsed down. It has been discovered that the unit has a boiler installed.

The rescue mission is being carried out by two teams of the National Disaster Response Force, as well as police officers, firefighters, and a team from the municipal corporation, according to Jorwal. A medical team led by a civil surgeon is stationed on the scene.
Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian was overseeing the rescue attempts at the location, he added.
Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister, has instructed the administration to evaluate the situation. “Rescue teams have started their operations. I pray for the swift and safe rescue of the workers trapped under the debris and for their speedy recovery,” he said in a post on X.
