Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant Wedding: The Mumbai Police has heightened the security at the grand wedding of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani with Radhika Merchant at Bandra-Kurl following a suspicious post made by an X (formerly Twitter) referring to a bomb at the Ambani wedding.’ The post, though considered a hoax, led the police to enhance security measures around the wedding venue.
The post by the X user @FFSFIR read, "A shameless thought crept into my mind that if a bomb went off at Ambani's wedding, half the world would turn upside down. Trillions of dollars in one pin code." The police subsequently increased the security around the Jio World Convention Centre, where Anant Ambani married Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, on July 12.
The Mumbai Police has not registered an FIR in connection with the case and trying to find out the person who posted the tweet on July 13 and his motive behind it, Hindustan Times reported citing a police officer.
Earlier, the Mumbai Police had arrested two persons for entering the wedding venue of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant without an invitation. One of them who entered without permission was identified as 26-year-old Venkatesh Narasaiya Alluri who is a YouTuber and the other person was 28-year-old Lukman Mohammad Shafi Sheikh who called himself a businessman. The police had registered separate cases against both of them.
The police said that they came from Andhra Pradesh to attend the wedding. The police released the accused after giving them notice and taking legal action in both cases. The accused reportedly entered through different gates but were arrested by security officers who noticed their suspicious movements. They were taken to the police station and were subsequently booked.
