A shocking case has emerged from Andhra Pradesh, where a man murdered a woman following a financial dispute, chopped her body into pieces, and disposed of the remains in a Vijayawada canal. The accused has been arrested along with his acquaintance.
According to police, an unidentified body was discovered in Ibrahimpatnam. After details and images spread on social media, the deceased was identified as Kalyani. Her family members recognized her from a tattoo on her hand and immediately contacted authorities. The prime suspect has been identified as Shaik Shafi, a resident of Bhavanipuram who operates a local mutton shop.
Why Did He Kill Her?
Police revealed that Shafi and Kalyani shared a close relationship but had been feuding over money. The investigation also uncovered that ongoing conflicts regarding Kalyani’s son had further strained their relationship.
On September 17, Shafi reportedly lured Kalyani to his home in Bhavanipuram. Another dispute over money erupted, during which Shafi attacked her with a knife and slit her throat.
Investigators suspect that after the murder, Shafi chopped the body into nine pieces. With the help of his employee, Guruvulu at his mutton shop, he disposed of the remains by throwing them into the cooling canal in the Gollapudi area.

The police have taken both suspects into custody and are interrogating them to determine their exact roles in the crime. Authorities are continuing their probe into the precise motive behind the murder and the logistics of how the body parts were transported to the canal.
