Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, on Sunday, claimed he is heading to his hometown to stay with his family, following his grandmother's sudden demise. The CJP leader was released from preventive detention nearly after 24 hours. Dipke, along with CJP co-conveners Saurav Das and Abhijeet Ranka, was detained from a flight on Saturday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Speaking to the reporters, Dipke said, "I am going home now to be with my family, as my grandmother has passed away. Ashutosh and Saurav will hold a press conference at 2 pm and announce the future course of action. The whole world has seen what happened. The entire Delhi was brought to a standstill to protect Gyanesh Kumar. What is it about Gyanesh Kumar that you inconvenienced millions of people yesterday to protect?"

Dipke Informed About Demise 

Dipke's release came amid a controversy on whether Dipke was informed about the grandmother's demise while he was kept in detention. Responding to the criticisms, the Delhi police said that they had informed Dipke about the incident and had offered assistance to travel to his hometown. However, Dipke denied the offer.

The CJP leader now stated that he is going to his hometown, and CJP leaders Das and Ranka will announce the party's next course of action.

CJP to announce further course of action at 2 pm

CJP leaders, including Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, would hold a press conference at 2 pm to announce the party's next steps.  The press meet is heavily tied to their ongoing "Jantar Mantar 2.0" movement, where they are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over alleged voter roll irregularities.
