In a shocking incident a 25-year-old woman from Maharashtra was left seriously injured after her hair got stuck in the bearings of a Ferris wheel at a local fair. The force of the ride was so intense that a significant portion of her scalp was torn away as the Ferris wheel violently pulled on her hair.
The woman, identified as Bali Maroti Talikote, a resident of Phulsawangi, was riding the Ferris wheel on September 11 when the incident occurred. The accident happened at a one-day fair organised as part of the traditional ‘Tanha Pola’ festival in Mahagaon taluka of Yavatmal district.
The annual fair had drawn a large crowd, including women and children from nearby villages who had gathered to seek blessings at the Puneshwar Mahadev temple, reported NDTV.
According to reports, Talikote’s hair became entangled in a rotating bearing located behind her seat as the Ferris wheel was moving at high speed. Within moments, as the Ferris wheel began spinning at high speed, it caused her hair to be pulled with tremendous force, resulting in a large portion of her scalp being torn away.
A video of the incident that has been going viral on the internet shows the horrifying moment as her scalp is pulled away.

Talikote can be heard screaming in pain as people nearby realise what has happened. The sight of the injured woman, covered in blood, left those at the fair shocked and horrified.

The incident quickly caused panic at the fair, with people rushing to help. Police personnel deployed at the venue also sprang into action. Assistant Police Inspector Sunil Ambhure and Police Constable Suhas Kayte reached the spot and, with the help of local residents, managed to bring the Ferris wheel to a stop.

Talikote was then carefully taken off the ride and rushed to a hospital for treatment. The quick response from the police and locals helped ensure that she was safely removed from the ride and prevented the situation from becoming even more dangerous.
