Noida Metro Aqua Line Update: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has planned to build parking spaces at 12 metro stations on the Aqua Line, running between Noida Sector 51 and Greater Noida.
The NMRC is likely to issue tenders for these parking spaces next week. Speaking about the details, the Noida Metro official reportedly said that there are a total of 21 stations on the Aqua Line. Out of these, parking has been planned at 16 stations. On the remaining five metro stations, the footfall is less, and so they have been opted out of the project for now.
Out of these 16 proposed stations, parking spaces have started at Sector 51, Alpha-1, while at 142 and 146 stations, the project will be completed soon. An agency has been selected to start parking at four stations afresh.
At Sector-51, 142, Alpha One, and 146 stations, parking started a few days ago. Digital boom barriers and other equipment were installed there. Meanwhile, the Noida Metro is going to launch an Android-based mobile app too. On the app, commuters would be able to see arrival and departure times while approaching the automatic barrier at these places. Parking fees can be paid online and offline.
Now, a tender will be issued again next week to start parking at 12 stations of the Aqua Line. Earlier, agencies did not participate in the last tender issued. But as the ridership is gradually increasing on the line, parking has become an unavoidable requisite at other stations as well.
As per the plan, a multi-storey parking will be built at Alpha One Metro Station, having a capacity of over a thousand vehicles. The officials said that a large number of people visit the Alpha One Metro Station. With the construction of parking here, people coming to the Metro Station as well as the nearby areas will be able to park their vehicles easily.
It is worth noting that a plan will also be brought to give 10 metro stations of the Aqua Line under co-branding. Any organization or company can add its name to the name of the metro station. A parking facility will soon be started at 12 stations of the Aqua Line Metro connecting Noida and Greater Noida. Noida Metro Rail Corporation has speeded up the preparations and new tenders will be issued next week.
