Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his greetings on the first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. He emphasised that the Ram temple is a great heritage of our culture, adding that it was built after "centuries of struggle".
In a post on the social media platform X, PM Modi said that the divine temple will become an inspiration for the development of the country. “Best wishes to all the countrymen on the first anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. This temple, built after centuries of sacrifice, penance, and struggle, is a great heritage of our culture and spirituality," Modi wrote in a post on X.

“I am confident that this divine and magnificent Ram temple will become a great inspiration in the accomplishment of the resolution of a developed India," he added in his post. Earlier on Friday, a statement from the UP government stated that common people will be able to take part in the first anniversary celebrations. The advisory informed that along with the common people, 110 invited VIPs will also take part in the celebrations, scheduled from January 11 to 13.

The statement also clarified that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the program and will later perform the ‘Abhishek’ of Ram Lalla. “Ram Lalla will be dressed up in a ‘Pitambari’ (yellow attire) on the first day of ‘Pratishtha Dwadashi’. The dress is being prepared in Delhi. Its weaving is being done with gold and silver threads," it stated.

The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was built after a long legal battle of decades. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the temple took place on January 22, 2024. Prime Minister Modi performed the main rituals in the presence of many invited VIP guests. Thousands of devotees have started coming into the city to witness the first anniversary.
