Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the eve of the 79th Independence Day, said that India will not tolerate the demographic shift and security threat caused by infiltrators.

PM Modi highlighted that infiltration was altering the demographic balance of India, while posing grave security risks. “Infiltration is changing our demography, stealing our livelihoods, seizing tribal lands, and endangering our sisters and daughters. We cannot hand over our nation to infiltrators — we must act now," he said.

Flagging the risks, infiltration poses to sensitive areas, PM Modi said, “When demographic change takes place in border areas, it causes a threat to national security… No country can hand it over to infiltrators… So, I would like to say that we have decided to start a ‘High-Power Demography Mission’."

PM Modi stressed the threats, saying, We cannot hand over our nation to infiltrators — we must act now."

As PM Modi put forward his concern about demographic changes, he launched a high-powered Demography Mission. Demography Mission is an initiative that will directly tackle the crisis of allegation migrants by safeguarding national interests. PM Modi said that the initiative will ensure social harmony and protect ‘every inch of our land’.

He said that the mission aims to confront illegal migration in a comprehensive and coordinated way.
