In a major relief for the passengers, the Indian Railways has announced a Puja special train between Bihar's Darbhanga and Karnataka's Yashwantpur for Diwali and Chhath festivals.
Diwali and especially Chhath are the prominent festivals celebrated across eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The working professionals, students, and other people usually return to their homes to celebrate these festivals with family and friends.
Keeping this in mind, the Railways operate several special trains every year. This year too, the Railways have announced the trains.
Puja Special: Dates
Speaking about the puja special train announcement, Varanasi Division Public Relations Officer, Ashoka Kumar, said that the train will operate the puja special train from Darbhaga to Yashwantpur between October 20 and November 17.
From Yashwantpur to Darbhanga, the train will run from October 23 to November 20.
Darbhanga-Yashwantpur-Darbhanga Puja Special: Timings
-05541 Darbhanga-Yeshwantpur will depart from Darbhanga at 15:35 every Monday and will reach Yeshwantpur at 2:30 hours on the fourth day.
-5542 Yeshwantpur-Darbhanga Puja Special train will depart from Yeshwantpur at 14.15 hrs on every Thursday and will arrive at Darbhanga at 4:30 hrs on the fourth day.
Stations
The puja special train will pass through Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Siwan, DeoriaSadar, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Aishbagh, Kanpur Central, Orai, VeerangnaLaxmibai Jhansi, Bina, Bhopal, Itarsi, Amla, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Balharshah, Ramgundam, Kazipet, Kacheguda, Mahbubnagar, Hindupur and Yelahanka
Special trains running late
Festival special trains are being run to manage the rush and scramble for confirmed tickets on Vikramshila, LTT, Farakka, Rajdhani, and other express trains. However, these trains are running hours behind schedule, causing inconvenience to passengers.
On Wednesday, four special trains, including the Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar special train, ran behind schedule. In particular, the 04498 Down Anand Vihar-Bhagalpur special train arrived nearly three hours late. On Tuesday, the train was nine hours late.

Additionally, the 09081-09082 Bhagalpur-Udhna trains have been rescheduled and will now depart at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday. Delhi-bound train number 4063 was also four hours behind schedule. The delay forced passengers to wait at the station, disrupting their travels.
