In a shocking case from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, several female students have accused a senior college official of sexual exploitation. The accused, Rajneesh Kumar, served as the chief proctor and head of the Geography Department at PC Bagla College.

Following the allegations, authorities suspended Rajneesh Kumar from his position. The college’s principal, Dr. Mahavir Singh, confirmed the suspension, and district officials have also taken note of the case.

The Uttar Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against him under multiple sections, including rape. The incident surfaced after several students anonymously reported their complaints to the local police and the National Commission for Women (NCW).

Investigation and Evidence

The students provided photographs allegedly showing Kumar in compromising situations with some of them. A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) initially investigated the matter, speaking to the students involved. Further verification by the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) confirmed the accusations, leading to formal legal action.

To ensure a thorough probe, the district magistrate has set up a four-member investigative committee, including senior officials such as the sub-divisional magistrate, DSP, tehsildar, and the district education officer. The team has been given seven days to complete its inquiry.

Videos and Past Allegations Surface

Disturbing videos allegedly showing the proctor assaulting students have now gone viral on social media, triggering public outrage. Reports claim that he had been involved in such misconduct for nearly 20 years.

Sources reveal that an FIR was previously filed against him, but he was acquitted at the time. It is alleged that Kumar would call female students to his office or residence, promising good grades or job opportunities in exchange for inappropriate favors. He reportedly filmed his acts and used the footage to blackmail students into silence.

Social media is flooded with demands for strict punishment. A user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "If these allegations are true, it is extremely shameful. That such crimes continued for 20 years without action highlights the system's failure. Strict punishment is necessary to ensure the safety of young women."

Another user commented, "Someone with such a cruel mindset should not be allowed to teach. The authorities must act quickly to restore faith in the education system and protect students."

Authorities continue their investigation, and the public awaits further action against the accused.
