Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat: Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar, in a statement, informed that the services of the Vande Bharat train between Bengaluru and Dharwad will now be extended to Belagavi, adding that the proposal has been approved by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He stated that the train will depart from Belagavi in the morning hours. The operation of the Vande Bharat train from Belagavi is expected to provide a major relief to the residents of Belagavi and nearby regions by cutting the travel time to several key regions.

Shettar, in a letter to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, expressed gratitude to the concerned authorities by stating that the decision will benefit lakhs of people. While the train currently departs from Dharwad in the afternoon at 1.15 pm and reaches Bengaluru at 7.45 pm, the schedule is likely to change after the latest announcement. While the Vande Bharat train from Pune to Hubballi already passes through Belagavi, the residents and the public representatives have been demanding an extra train to reach Bengaluru.
