RJD party president and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad on Monday launched a fresh political attack against Prime Minister Modi, saying that he will not allow the PM to make a comeback in 2024. Lalu, out on bail in fodder scam cases, remarked ahead of the INDIA bloc's fourth meeting which will take place on Tuesday in Delhi.

"We are going for the meeting of the INDIA bloc and we will not allow Narendra Modi to form government at the Centre at any cost," the RJD chief told reporters at the Patna airport before departing for the national capital with his younger son and incumbent Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

When asked about Prime Minister Modi giving a guarantee of coming to power again in 2024, Lalu Prasad asked "Who is Narendra Modi?"

"We are going for the meeting in Delhi and we will contest elections on one seat, one candidate formula to minimise the distribution of votes. We will form the government at the Centre this time," the former chief minister of Bihar claimed.

INDIA bloc's meeting on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the parties of the opposition unity alliance - INDIA - will meet in Delhi to deliberate on the strategy to defeat PM Modi-led BJP in the upcoming general elections of 2024. The meeting comes at a time when the saffron party delivered a crushing blow to the bloc in recently held state assembly polls in four out of five states. Soon after the big-brother Congress lost in four states, many INDIA partners raised questions about the party's ability to lead the alliance.

Even the meeting which was supposed to take place on December 6 was postponed after top leaders in the alliance, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav decided to skip the meeting.
