Apple Health App: Apple is reportedly working on a significant upgrade to its Health app, introducing an AI-powered health coach designed to provide personalized wellness insights. This initiative, known internally as Project Mulberry, aims to enhance the app’s capabilities by offering users tailored health recommendations based on AI analysis.
Apple’s AI Health Coach: What to Expect
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s new AI agent will act as a virtual health advisor, analyzing data and providing guidance. “The initiative is called Project Mulberry, and it involves a completely revamped Health app plus a health coach. The service would be powered by a new AI agent that would replicate—at least to some extent—a real doctor,” Gurman revealed in his Power On newsletter.
This AI-powered upgrade could roll out as early as iOS 19.4, expected to launch in spring or summer next year.
How Will It Work?
The Health app will continue gathering data from Apple devices like the iPhone, Apple Watch, and third-party wearables. However, with AI integration, users will receive more in-depth health insights.
Gurman explains, “The idea is this: The Health app will continue to collect data from your devices (whether that’s the iPhone, Apple Watch, earbuds, or third-party products), and then the AI coach will use that information to offer tailor-made recommendations about ways to improve health.”
To refine this system, Apple is training its AI using data from in-house physicians and plans to collaborate with experts in sleep, nutrition, mental health, and cardiology. These specialists will also create educational videos to help users understand health risks and lifestyle improvements.
For example, if the app detects concerning heart rate trends, it may display an informative video about heart disease prevention. Additionally, Apple is reportedly searching for a well-known doctor to represent this feature.
Possible Subscription Model: Health+
Apple might introduce this AI-powered coaching service as part of a subscription model called Health+, offering premium wellness insights. Other rumored features include:
-Food tracking
-AI-driven nutrition recommendations
-Workout analysis using the iPhone’s camera
With AI-driven health insights and expert-backed coaching, Apple could redefine digital wellness in the coming years.
