Alicia Frami, a Spanish artist, is all set to marry an AI-made hologram. With this, the artist became the first human to marry the digital hologram which was created with technology and machine learning. She has also booked a venue for the wedding and the ceremony will take place this year in Rotterdam according to a report by Euronews.

AILex, Framis's future partner, is a custom-made suit meant to satiate her emotional needs. A "middle-aged male hologram with slightly complex logistics" is how she characterised her virtual spouse. According to the report, the marriage is not romantic and is part of her new project, Hybrid Couple, in which she will play with the borders of love, intimacy, and identity in the era of artificial intelligence.

In a statement posted on her website, Ms. Framis explained that AI lacks poetry, art, and warmth and is still closely related to science.

"I want to create an artistic documentary that combines drawings, conversations with other women, and illustrations of arms, bodies, romantic desires, household scenarios, and my partner's everyday activities," she added. She went on, "I want to investigate ways to incorporate the hologram into my everyday life."

According to the report, Ms. Framis is working on the bride's gown and the attendees' outfits. The wedding will take place on the top of Rotterdam's Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum, report added.

Not only that, she also shared the photos and videos with her partner on Instagram. "Having sex' and falling in love with robots and holograms is unavoidable. They can show sensitivity and make wonderful friends. In the same way that phones helped us avoid loneliness and fill the emptiness in our lives, holograms that interact with us in our homes have the potential to do even more good," she said.

She also added that AI and humans can be a beneficial pair for those who need company. "Whether we like it or not, a new generation of love is coming in which people marry and have relationships with robots, holograms, avatars, and other such objects. We will practise our connections with these entities in the same way that we practise new languages with Duolingo', she said.
