TikTok, the world's most popular short video network, appears to be preparing to launch a photo-sharing app that would compete with Instagram. The company has previously stated that the application will be released in the near future. According to the newest update, new rumours citing pictures posted by users imply that the platform would be called TikTok Notes.

Additionally, the report claims that users of TikTok are receiving pop-up messages on the new "TikTok Notes" programme. According to the warning, users' images will be uploaded to TikTok Notes, a new app that the business is getting ready to launch. Additionally, users have the option to withhold their image posts from the new app.

The company has already specified that the application is not available for use at the time of writing this article. Also, an URL starting with photo.tiktok.com shows the image with a message saying “Opening in TikTok Notes.”

Last month, the codes and language uncovered in the TikTok APK file, an installable file format for Android, indicated that the business is working on TikTok Photos. However, the recent pop-ups indicate that the corporation will not be exploring a different name for the application.

According to a TikTok spokesperson as reported by TechCrunch, "We're exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a dedicated space for those formats as part of our continued commitment to innovating the TikTok experience."

This suggests that TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, is ready to challenge Meta's social media networks. Interestingly, Facebook recently unveiled a TikTok-like vertical-first video player. In the meanwhile, TikTok is also experimenting with text postings like X and Threads as well as 30-minute films.
