A wedding between a bride from Nizamabad and a groom from Jagtial was called off after a heated argument over the absence of mutton bone marrow on the non-vegetarian menu. The groom’s family felt insulted by the bride’s family for not serving the delicacy and refused to resolve the issue even after the police intervened.

The incident was similar to the plot of a popular Telugu movie ‘Balagam’, featuring a scene of a similar incident.  In the film, released in March, a dispute between the groom and the bride’s younger brother over bone marrow in mutton led to the wedding being cancelled.

The engagement took place recently at the bride’s residence, where both families agreed to conduct the marriage traditionally and lavishly. The bride’s family arranged non-vegetarian meals for the guests but did not include bone marrow in the dishes.

This sparked a quarrel between the two parties, who accused each other of disrespect and insult. The matter reached the local police station, where the officials tried to pacify the situation but failed to reconcile it.

The bride’s family argued that the groom’s family deceived them about the fact that bone marrow was not on the wedding menu. Following the argument, the groom’s side insisted on calling off the wedding and the bride’s side agreed. Both the families then left for their respective places without any reconciliation.
