Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to launch the Uttar Pradesh Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (UP-IMLC) project on Thursday, a major step towards strengthening the state’s industrial and logistics infrastructure. As part of the initiative, 27 integrated nodes will be developed along various expressways across Uttar Pradesh to promote manufacturing, improve logistics connectivity, and spur regional development.
These nodes will be developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). According to Hari Prasad Shahi, Additional CEO of UPEIDA, the UP-IMLC project aims to facilitate the creation of special industrial corridors that will act as hubs for manufacturing and logistics activities. These clusters are expected to boost local economies and promote infrastructure development along the expressways.
The project will begin with the development of two nodes in Ambedkarnagar, one each on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway and near the Purvanchal Expressway. Additionally, large-scale work is underway on the Noida-Ghaziabad and Meerut-Muzaffarnagar nodes under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). An integrated industrial city is already under development in Greater Noida. Similarly, clusters are being planned in Prayagraj and Agra under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC).
Nodes to Be Established Along Expressways:
-Ganga Expressway: Meerut, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj
