The Uttar Pradesh government will undertake a massive plantation drive from July 1 to 7, aiming to plant 35 crore saplings across the state. A total of 52.33 crore saplings are currently ready for distribution from 1,901 nurseries. All 18 administrative divisions have been assigned specific plantation targets, with the Lucknow division leading the chart with a goal of four crore saplings.

To ensure the success of the campaign, nodal officers have been appointed for each division. The campaign will once again be spearheaded by Deepak Kumar, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Social Forestry), who will serve as the Mission Director for Plantation Campaign 2025.

Following Lucknow, Kanpur division has been assigned a target of 3.13 crore saplings, followed by Chitrakoot (2.76 crore), Jhansi (2.58 crore), Mirzapur (2.27 crore), Ayodhya (2.20 crore), Devipatan (1.95 crore), and Prayagraj (1.89 crore). Other divisions such as Bareilly, Varanasi, Moradabad, Agra, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Aligarh, Meerut, Basti, and Saharanpur have also received targets ranging from over a crore to 88 lakh saplings.
