The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 192 crore for tourism development projects in Agra and Varanasi. In Agra, Rs 118 crore will be spent on 13 projects, including the construction of a memorial for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the beautification of several temples. Varanasi will receive Rs 74.31 crore for 14 projects.
In Agra, the funds will be directed towards tourism development at Kailash Temple (Rs 15.26 crore), Dariyanath Temple (Rs 1.06 crore), Balkeshwar Temple (Rs 1.47 crore), Dashrath Kunj Temple (Rs 95.11 lakh), Dhakam Mata Temple (Rs 88.3 lakh), a Shiva temple in Fatehabad (Rs 88 lakh), an ancient Shiva temple in Bah (Rs 72.6 lakh), and the Hanuman Temple at the Collectorate (Rs 8.46 lakh). Signage will be installed at key tourist locations with a budget of Rs 2.05 crore. A memorial for Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be built in Bateshwar with Rs 22.76 crore, along with an additional Rs 7.15 crore for integrated tourism development in the area.

In Varanasi, projects will include renovations and beautification of the ghats, such as between Dashashwamedh Ghat and Kashi Vishwanath Temple Ghat (Rs 6.16 crore), Assi Ghat and Ravidas Ghat (Rs 8.24 crore), Assi Ghat and Dashashwamedh Ghat (Rs 6.14 crore), and Golaghat and Namo Ghat (Rs 6.17 crore). Dashashwamedh Ghat will be renovated for Rs 8.27 crore, and Assi Ghat for Rs 6.2 crore.
Other projects include improvements to the Shiva Temple in Ajgara (Rs 1.06 crore), a memorial in Pindara (Rs 18.25 crore), Durga Temple in Mustafabad (Rs 72.06 lakh), Gurudham Temple (Rs 95.66 lakh), Kardameshwar Mahadev Temple (Rs 4.86 crore), lighting at the Thaiwat Temple (Rs 1.28 crore), and Shulaka Keshwar Mahadev Temple (Rs 95.9 lakh). Rs 50 lakh will be allocated for enhancing tourist facilities at various ghats.
