Stones, paper balls, thermocol blocks and whatnot, customers have received all kinds of ‘scams’ in place of what they originally ordered from online delivery companies. But at least none of those ‘deliveries’ were life-threatening, until now- a couple in Bengaluru, who were supposed to receive their Xbox controller that they reportedly ordered from Amazon, instead ended up getting a terrifying ‘delivery’ crawling out of their parcel. The poor couple allegedly received a live snake inside their Amazon parcel, a video of which was later shared online.

The clip went viral and left people reacting. As per the couple, the two rushed for customer care, only to be put on hold for almost two hours. The duo later reportedly received a return, however, the damage of negligence was already done until then, as they accused Amazon of the same.

“We received a complete refund, but what do we get for risking our lives here with a highly venomous snake? This is clearly a safety breach caused solely by Amazon’s negligence and poor transportation and warehousing hygiene and supervision. Where is the accountability for such a serious lapse in safety?” the couple was quoted as saying to India Today.

The snake reportedly did not harm anyone. Whereas, after the video went viral, the company also responded to the post.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘vishkanyaaaa’. The post read, “Couple orders Xbox from Amazon, finds cobra in package.

Watch the viral video:

“We're sorry to know about the inconvenience you've had with the Amazon order. We'd like to have this checked. Please share the required details here: https://amzn.to/3RvxarV, and our team will get back to you soon with an update,” read the response by Amazon.

Most expressed concerns about the safety of the couple, while the rest targeted Amazon and suggested the couple sue the online delivery company. The post was shared two days ago and pulled more than 8K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The ‘Inconvenience’ being an attempt to murder, surely a refund would be sufficient,” a user said. “This is surely not an ‘inconvenience’,” commented a second person. “Hopefully everyone is safe, not just the couple but also the people who carried the box and stuff,” commented a third user.

“While I agree that the consumer has been put at great risk, why is no one talking about the employee(s) who are involved in the Packing department? They are at greater risk,” added another. “How come an entire snake was packed and delivered to unaware customers? This could have gone completely southwards. Amazon should compensate for the real good,” added another.
