Delhi Viral Video: In the last few months, several scams have come forward. From ‘relative arrested’ calls from Pakistan to petrol pump frauds, recently, social media has been witnessing somewhat a flood of similar reports. Adding to the list, a new scam stole the headlines, where some alleged fake traffic police officers were seen issuing a challan to a commuter. However, noticing the officer’s improper uniform and an absence of an authorised number plate, the victim began to record the incident, a video of which was shared online. The incident, as per the post, unfolded on April 06, in Delhi’s Mukundpur Burari area.
The clip went viral and triggered a reaction from netizens, where a majority opened up about facing something similar. The man also accused the fake officers of forcing him to not record, which was also heard in the viral clip.
The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘EktaUnion’. The post was captioned, “In Delhi, fake thugs rob people by posing as police. This @dtptraffic soldier has neither a nameplate nor a cap. Can he issue a challan? The Hon'ble Supreme Court has ordered that anybody can make a video. The driver was not even allowed to make a video.”

The video is heavily circulating on the internet, with several people recalling witnessing the same people scamming commuters at multiple locations. Some netizens also demanded strict action against the accused. The post was shared today and pulled 64K views from people.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their views. “I too once said something similar to the police, then the traffic police issued a challan and also beat me up,” a user said. “I had also seen these two standing near Mukund Pur flyover and they would stand in such a way that if a vehicle stops suddenly, then the vehicles behind are sure to have an accident. I have also seen them extorting money,” read another comment.
“They take a lot of time to generate the bill from the machine so that they can earn money. This is a corrupt practice. Till then they settle the matter. They always stand near Mukundpur flyover or Majlis Park metro station. Extortion gang” added a third person. “Police officials must take cognizance and share what they did in this case,” added another.
