Viral Video: Andhra Pradesh’s Parvathipuram railways station was visited by an unusual traveller and the visit instantly made major headlines. Taking a long night walk, an elephant reached the station and was seen taking a good look at the new-found area. The incident took place in the early hours of October 29, according to the news agency ANI. The otherwise crowded station soon became empty at the side where the animal was roaming, as commuters came to the other side of the tracks to maintain their and the animal’s safety. The video was posted on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘PavanJourno’. The post was captioned, “#elephant's long night walk... Hari walked 40km Sat night from Mirthivalasa, crossed Parvathipuram Rly Stn & reached Ankulavalasa, exploring new routes. Not harming any. Forest Dept asked people in the area to sleep indoors, and be careful while moving out 6am-6pm.”

Reacting to the video, netizens had a lot to say, making it go viral. Most people recalled the other visits of these humble giants near the civilization and expressed their concerns over similar increasing events, while some found the animal’s unusual night walk adorable. The clip was shared yesterday and pulled views from hundreds of people.

Taking to social media, many shared the video of the giant roaming the station and shared their take on the viral clip. “Elephant in #Parvathipuram #Railway Station,” a user wrote. “Elephant spotted roaming on Parvathipuram station, Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, in the same district, a group of elephants was found roaming near the crop fields near Gottivalasa village in Garugubilli mandal which falls under,” wrote a second person. “In Parvathipuram? Is there a forest where elephants are inhabited in this area? I'm from Bobbili and used to frequently visit this place some 50 years ago. Never heard of this!” pointed out a third user. An elephant entered into Parvathipuram railway station in #AndhraPradesh,” said a fourth person. “An #Elephant visits the Parvathipuram railway station at midnight and is seen walking on the platform. People who were present at the station moved to another platform and made this video,” said another.
