The incident took place on Monday afternoon at Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City, Utah. According to police records and court documents cited by ABC Salt Lake City, the accused approached Sohail, who was working at a jewellery kiosk, and started a conversation before attacking him. He told investigators that he killed Sohail because he was Muslim and that he “intends to kill Muslims.”
