The Kia Carens facelift has been spied testing in India for the first time. The Kia Carens is a popular MPV model in the segment that is set to receive a design update. Kia’s other models in its lineup - the Seltos and Sonet have recently received major upgrades in their new-gen models. Similarly, the Kia Carens facelift is also expected to feature major exterior changes. It is also being speculated that this could be a test mule of the potential Carens EV.

Kia Carens Facelift - Design
Talking about the design of the Carens facelift, the spy photos show a new tail light with a C-shaped configuration, similar to its updated siblings. The taillights are likely to be connected by an LED bar, known as ‘Star Map’ LED tail lights, which is a new trend in Kia’s design language. The front and rear bumpers, along with the headlights, are expected to get a makeover. Recently a test mule of the Kia Carens was also spotted testing in South Korea which seemed to be a base or mid-spec version, featuring a single-pod halogen headlight, suggesting that higher trims might come with LED lights. New alloy wheels are also anticipated as part of the facelift.
Kia Carens Facelift - Interior
In terms of interior, the Kia Carens facelift could come with several enhancements to improve user experience. These updates might include a panoramic sunroof and dual 10.25-inch horizontal screens on the dashboard. A significant addition could be an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, potentially offering Level 1 or Level 2 driver assistance systems.
Kia Carens Facelift - Engine
Talking about its powertrain specs, the engine options are likely to remain the same. The Carens facelift is expected to retain its current powertrain options, which include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. All these engines produce a power output of 113 bhp/144 Nm of torque, 158 bhp/253 Nm of torque and 113 bhp/250 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed torque converter, depending on the engine option.

Kia Carens Facelift - India Launch
The Kia Carens facelift is expected to be launched around the festive season this year or by early 2025. It is fair to assume that it will get a slight price increase due to the new features and design improvements.
