Defender Octa: British automobile manufacturer Land Rover has confirmed that they will reveal the Defender Octa on July 3. The upcoming Land Rover Defender Octa is going to be the most powerful version of the Defender to be ever produced. Interestingly, this will be the first Land Rover vehicle to bear the 'JLR' badge. The company restructured itself to JLR in 2023, separating the Defender, Range Rover and Discovery models into individual brands.

Although JLR hasn't revealed all the details yet, they have confirmed that the Octa will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. This engine could be similar to the 4.4-litre unit found in the Range Rover Sport SV. However, whether it will deliver the same power output of 635 bhp is yet to be confirmed.

One of the standout features of the Defender Octa will be its '6D' air suspension system, borrowed from the Range Rover Sport SV. This technology is designed to reduce body roll when accelerating, braking, or cornering, while also improving wheel travel and off-road capabilities.

The name "Octa" is inspired by the shape of diamonds, specifically the octahedron, known for being one of the hardest substances on Earth. Land Rover is emphasising the toughness, rarity, and exclusivity of the Octa model, which will showcase a unique "encircled diamond graphic" on various parts of the interior and exterior.

This new Defender variant aims to push boundaries for Land Rover, building on the legacy of high-performance Defender models. Drawing from the Range Rover Sport SV, the Octa will integrate advanced technology to enhance both on-road and off-road performance. Additionally, it will offer a range of luxurious features, making it a highly anticipated addition to the JLR lineup.
