Mahindra Scorpio-N, XUV700 And Thar Waiting Period: Mahindra & Mahindra, a renowned automobile manufacturer that is known for its popular SUV lineup including the Scorpio-N, Scorpio Classic, Thar and XUV700. The manufacturer has taken significant steps to reduce waiting periods for its customers. This move comes as a result of increased production capacity and better availability of key components like semiconductors. By January 2024, Mahindra had made noticeable progress in reducing order backlogs and delivery times for its SUVs. As of April 2024, the waiting period for various models has been further reduced, bringing relief to potential buyers.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Waiting Period
The Mahindra Scorpio-N faced a waiting period of over two years at one point. However, recent improvements in production and component availability have slashed this waiting time significantly. For the entry-level Z2 diesel variant, customers can now expect a wait of four to five months, while the Z2 petrol variant has a reduced waiting time of around one month. Mid- and top-spec petrol variants, along with top-spec diesel variants, now have waiting times of two to three months. The mid-spec diesel variants are expected to be delivered in about three to four months. Meanwhile, the entry-level Scorpio Classic S variant has also seen a decrease in waiting time to 2-3 months, while the S11 variant's wait remains unchanged at 4-5 months.
Mahindra XUV700 Waiting Period
Similarly, the Mahindra XUV700, a popular choice in the full-size SUV segment, has seen a drastic reduction in waiting periods. The entry-level MX and AX3 variants now have a waiting period of about a month, while top-tier AX7 and AX7 L models command a waiting period of one month to 45 days. The AX5 variant has the longest wait at slightly over 1.5 months.
Mahindra Thar Waiting Period
Talking about the Mahindra Thar, 4X4 variants now have a notably shorter waiting period compared to 4X2 variants. The 4X4 variants, including petrol and diesel options with hardtop or soft-top configurations, have an average wait of six weeks to two months, down from three months earlier. However, diesel 4X2 variants still have a longer wait of nine to ten months for the two available trims, while petrol 4X2 variants have a maximum wait of four months. Both diesel and petrol 4X2 variants have seen about a month's reduction in their waiting periods since February 2024.
