New Porsche 911 Carrera Launched In India: German sports car manufacturer Porsche has launched the new 911 series in India, just days after its global debut. The new Porsche 911 generation is now available for booking in two variants - Carrera and Carrera 4 GTS. The Porsche 911 Carrera has been launched at price of Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom) and the 911 Carrera 4 GTS has been launched at price of Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom). Deliveries for the updated Porsche Carrera are expected to commence by the end of this year.

Porsche 911 Carrera - Powertrain 

The new Porsche 911 Carrera series has been equipped with a hybrid powertrain. It is being referred to as the new ‘T-Hybrid’ powertrain and includes a turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine, a gearbox-mounted electric motor, and a compact liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. This setup boosts the 911 GTS’s output by 60 bhp and 40 Nm of torque over the previous model, which had a twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine. The new flat-six engine delivers 479 bhp and 571 Nm of torque. The electric motor adds an extra 54 bhp and 151 Nm of torque. Altogether, this results in a combined power output of 534 bhp and 610 Nm of torque. 

Porsche 911 Carrera - Performance 

In terms of performance, the new 911 Carrera GTS has seen significant improvements. It can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds, making it 0.4 seconds faster than the previous model. Additionally, the top speed has increased slightly to 312 km/h.

Porsche 911 Carrera - Design and Interior 

Talking about its design, the Porsche 911 Carrera has undergone subtle changes. The front fascia and the rear end features redesigned headlamps and modified bumpers. Exhaust tips have also been repositioned. Moving inside the Porsche 911 Carrera, the cabin has some updated switchgear and a revamped driver’s display. Additionally, a push-button start has been introduced for the first time in the 911 series.
