Volkswagen Taigun GT Line And Taigun GT Plus Sport: Volkswagen India has recently introduced two new versions of the Taigun SUV, called the Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport, as part of their new 'Sport' line portfolio. These models come with a sporty black-themed design, adding a distinct visual appeal to the Taigun lineup.  These variants were unveiled at the Volkswagen Annual Brand Conference 2024 in March, showcasing their unique design elements that set them apart.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line & Taigun GT Plus Sport - Price 

Talking about the price of these new variants, the Volkswagen Taigun GT Line has been launched with its prices ranging between Rs 14.08 lakh and Rs 15.63 lakh (ex-showroom). Similarly, the Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport has been launched with its prices ranging between Rs 18.53 lakh and Rs 19.73 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line & Taigun GT Plus Sport - Exterior 

Talking about the exterior of the Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport, it boasts smoked LED headlamps, a Carbon Steel Grey roof, red GT badges, red brake callipers, dark chrome door handles, and new 17-inch alloy wheels with black accents. 

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line & Taigun GT Plus Sport - Interior 

Moving inside the Taigun GT Line Taigun GT Plus Sport, both models offer black leatherette upholstery with red stitching, a gloss black dashboard, aluminium pedals and GT badging. The Sport steering wheel features red stitching and various interior elements like grab handles, roof lamp housing and sun visors are blacked out to match the sporty theme. 

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line & Taigun GT Plus Sport - Engine Specs 

The Taigun GT Line is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI engine that is capable of generating 113 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, while the Taigun GT Plus Sport gets a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that is capable of producing a power output of 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, with automatic transmission options available.

Apart from the Taigun variants, Volkswagen also showcased the GT Plus version of the Virtus at the conference, although it's currently in the concept stage and expected to launch later this year. Additionally, Volkswagen announced plans to expand its dealership and service network. They aim to increase their sales dealerships from 193 to 230 and service touchpoints from 142 to 150 by the end of 2024. They also plan to expand their presence to 25 more cities, totaling 170 cities by the end of the year.
