In response to the scorching heat, the health department has decided to establish heat stroke rooms at Sadar Hospital and Community Health Centers to provide emergency treatment for affected patients in Bihar’s Siwan.
These rooms will be equipped with cooling mechanisms such as air conditioning, coolers, fans, and water sprinklers, ensuring immediate relief. Each room will have at least two beds along with ice packs, cold blankets, and wet linen for patient comfort.
Additionally, modern medical equipment such as rectal thermometers, multipara monitors, ECG machines, oxygen support, defibrillators, glucometers, and essential life-saving medicines will be available to facilitate proper monitoring and treatment.

To ensure timely medical assistance, special ambulances will be deployed to transport critical patients. These ambulances will be equipped with air conditioning, ice boxes, ORS, small fans, cold IV fluids, high-flow oxygen, and trained medical staff to provide first aid en route to the hospital.
Civil Surgeon Dr Srinivas Prasad has advised people to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, avoid walking barefoot in the sun, take cold showers, stay in well-ventilated areas, and refrain from heavy work. He also urged individuals to seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms of heatstroke.
