Bank Holidays in August 2025: In August, Banks in India are expected to observe a significant number of holidays during the month. This includes weekends as well as various state-specific occasions and holidays, resulting in half the month spent off. Banks are scheduled to remain closed nearly half the month in different states on different occasions cumulatively.  Some of these days are national holidays. This means that all private and government banks across the country will remain closed on these days.

Bank Holiday August 2025:  Here’s List Of Holidays With States

August 3 - Tripura: Banks will remain closed in Tripura on this day due to Ker Puja.

August 8 - Sikkim, Odisha: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim and Odisha on this day due to Tendong Lho Rum Faat festival.

August 9 - Central India: Rakshabandhan festival will be celebrated across the country on this day. Due to which, almost all private and government banks will remain closed in Central India. These include Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan etc.

August 13: Banks will remain closed in Manipur on this day due to Deshbhakti Diwas

August 15: There is a national holiday across the country on this day due to Independence Day. Due to this, all private and government banks will remain closed.

August 16: Private and government banks of almost all the states of the country will remain closed on this day due to Janmashtami.

August 16: All banks in Gujarat and Maharashtra will remain closed due to Parsi New Year.

August 26: Banks will remain closed in Karnataka and Kerala on this day due to Ganesh Chaturthi.

August 27: Banks will remain closed in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Telangana on this day due to Ganesh Chaturthi.

August 28: Banks will remain closed in Odisha, Punjab and Sikkim on this day due to Nuakhai.
