Amid all the grief the nation is going through after deadly terror attack on tourist in Pahalgam of Jammu And Kashmir, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) chief Ashish Kumar Chauhan expressed deep grief over the death of 26 people in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and pledged a assistance of Rs 1 crore to the kin of the victims.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic terrorist attack in Kashmir on April 22, 2025 where 26 people lost their lives," Chauhan, who is MD and CEO of NSE, said on X. "In a humble gesture of support, NSE pledged Rs 1 crore to the next of kin of the victims, standing in solidarity with their families during this difficult time," he added.

Life Corporation of India (LIC) has also announced its commitment to supporting the victims of the terrorist attack. The insurance provider will expedite claim settlements to provide financial relief.

"LIC of India expresses deep grief over the death of innocent citizens at Pahalgam in the terrorist attack on April 22," the country's biggest life insurer said in a statement.

Pahalgam Terror Attack

On April 22, terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) attacked tourists in Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, killing 26 people. Most of the deceased were tourists.

Following the terror attacks, the central government took sharp action by announcing several diplomatic measures, including closing the Atari Integrated Check Post (ICP), suspending the SAARC Visa Waiver Scheme (SVES) for Pakistani nationals, giving them 40 hours to return home, and reducing the number of officers in high commissions on both sides. India also suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan.
