PAN Card Name Correction Guide: Whether you are joining a new company or applying for a government scheme, a PAN card is one of the most essential documents for all financial and official transactions. However, experts warn that any error in the name on your PAN card can lead to serious consequences, preventing you from using it for crucial purposes.

How To Change Name In PAN Card Online?

If you want to change your name on the PAN card, here’s a step-by-step guide to update it through the UTIITSL portal:

Step 1: Visit the official UTIITSL portal at https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN/

Step 2: Look for the PAN Card Correction/Update option on the home page and click on it to apply for a correction or update in PAN Card details.

Step 3: Fill in your PAN number and personal details exactly as they appear on your existing PAN card.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Name Change’ option to update your name and enter your correct name.

Step 5: Upload supporting documents for proof of identity and name change, such as: Aadhaar Card, Passport, Marriage Certificate (if applicable) and Gazette notification (for legal name changes).

Step 6: Pay the processing fee through net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.

Step 7: Review all the details carefully and submit the application.

Step 8: Save the acknowledgement number for tracking your application. Using the acknowledgement number, you can track the status of your PAN update on the UTIITSL portal.

Once your PAN Card details are updated, the new card will be delivered to your address within 45 days.
