Delhi Capitals WPL 2026 Player Retention List: Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday retained five players from their 2025 squad while leaving out the legendary Australian cricketer Meg Lanning, who was also their captain, ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction.

Lanning has parted ways with Delhi Capitals, despite leading the team to three consecutive WPL finals from 2023 to 2025. The franchise has opted not to retain her services.

Instead of the legendary player, the side opted to retain key players Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, and Annabel Sutherland, alongside uncapped Indian batter Niki Prasad.

Niki joined DC ahead of the WPL 2025 season. The youngster was the skipper of the India U19 team that led the side to U19 Women’s T20 World Cup glory earlier this year.

DC’s Released Players List

Indian players: Taniya Bhatia, Nandini Kashyap,  Sneha Deepthi, Shikha Pandey, Minnu Mani, Arundhati Reddy, Titas Sadhu, Shree Charani, Radha Yadav.

Purse remaining: Rs. 5.70 crore

Under Lanning's captaincy, DC stormed to the top of the WPL 2025 table, winning five of their eight matches and a direct entery in the final. However, the side fell short of claiming the coveted title.
