India Women vs Australia Women: Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry and pacer Kim Garth have both been ruled out for the ongoing three-match ODIs against India. Notably, the announcement came moments before the toss of the ongoing 1st ODI taking place at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Tuesday. It is worth noting that both Perry and Garth sustained quad strains in the recent third T20I against India, which India won by 17 runs.
Interestingly, a win in that decider helped the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side to claim the series 2-1.
Megan Schutt and Lucy Hamilton have been called in as cover. Schutt has also been roped in Australia's XI in the first ODI.
Australia has not completely ruled out the chances of either Perry or Garth participating in the only Test match scheduled in Perth, beginning on March 6. Their rehabilitation progress will be assessed in the upcoming days while the second and third ODIs take place in Hobart later this week.
Garth achieved three wickets during the three T20Is, which included two wickets during Australia’s victory in the second match in Canberra.
Perry made 20 in the series opener, scored seven runs coming in late in the innings in Canberra, before being dismissed cheaply in Adelaide.
